London, Amsterdam – 8 June 2022 – Money20/20 Europe, Europe’s largest fintech show, is delighted to welcome Parley for the Oceans, a global environmental organisation and impact network that is taking action and raising awareness of the beauty and fragility of the oceans, on World Oceans Day at this year’s show, taking place in Amsterdam on 7-9 June 2022.

Parley for the Oceans addresses major threats towards our oceans, the most important ecosystem of our planet. Demonstrating a shared vision for collaboration, Money 20/20 has a dedicated stage to explore the pertinent topics in the realm of sustainability, The Planetarium Stage. The Planetarium Stage hosts some of the critical debates the industry needs to have today from decarbonising crypto to establishing a standardised ESG measuring framework.

We’re proud to be making a space where innovators, thinkers and leaders can come together to raise awareness of some of the biggest topics and issues concerning the industry.

In celebration of World Oceans Day, both Parley and Patch will take part in a session at The Exchange ‘Saving the planet with every transaction, meet the ESG superheroes of fintech’, to share how they have put climate action at the heart of the business and how easy it could be to integrate into yours. Parley for the Oceans is responsible for a number of global campaigns with leading organisations to raise awareness for the issue of marine plastic pollution, including with American Express, Adidas and Brita.

Money 20/20 encourages all delegates present at this year’s show to join these leading organisations, as well as the thought-leaders, community voices, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, to explore how you can do your part to care for the oceans that we all share.

Tracey Davies, President of Money 20/20, said: “Over the years, we have seen a significant rise in the demand from the show’s attendees to understand how their business can make a positive difference to the world around us.  For the first time ever, we have dedicated an entire stage to this type of content, expanding our commitment towards improving ESG awareness and action. At Money 20/20 we’re proud to have Parley for the Oceans on World Oceans Day and we look forward to seeing many more initiatives emerge from this industry.  It’s these simple steps that’ll bring the financial services industry together to be a part of the solution.”

Cyrill Gutsch, CEO and Founder of Parley for the Oceans, said: At Parley for the Oceans, we are collaborating with epi-centers of major industries to drive rapid economic transformation for the oceans.  The financial industry has been the architect of economic systems around the world and these systems have been exploiting the planet for decades.  Starting this relationship with Money 20/20 is another important step to empower the financial sector, and all of their customers to take action on the oceans and climate change”.

Bringing together the most innovative people in payments, fintech, and the broader money ecosystem, Money20/20 Europe is a showcase for some of the industry’s fastest-growing and biggest household names. With over 6,500 people from over 2,000 companies attending, this year’s event at RAI Amsterdam promises to be bigger and better than ever.
