Today, Stand With Crypto hand-delivered a petition, signed by more than 28,000 advocates from across the country, to Senate Banking Committee offices urging the markup and passage of the CLARITY Act

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Stand With Crypto — America’s leading crypto advocacy organization — visited the Capitol Hill offices of every member of the Senate Banking Committee to deliver a petition with more than 28,000 signatures generated in just three days from crypto advocates from all 50 states, urging the Committee to set a date for markup of the Digital Asset Market Clarity (CLARITY) Act and advance the legislation without delay.

“The CLARITY Act has the potential to create a more innovative and consumer-friendly financial system and ensure all Americans can benefit from the digital economy,” said Mason Lynaugh, Executive Director of Stand with Crypto. “Every additional delay to passing this bill not only sets back financial opportunities for everyday Americans — it also jeopardizes America’s place as a global leader in digital assets. Heading into the midterm elections, our polling shows crypto owners are paying close attention to policy developments in Washington, D.C. and are enthusiastic about voting for candidates who support crypto; in November, they will remember who has stood with crypto and who stood in the way.”

In a meeting with Senator Raphael Warnock, Lynaugh and Stand With Crypto Georgia Chapter President Latia Williams spoke about the urgent need to pass market structure legislation to secure America’s leadership in the digital economy, and the nationwide grassroots support for the CLARITY Act’s passage. Through today’s Capitol Hill visit, Stand With Crypto advocates reminded elected officials that their constituents will not rest until market structure legislation is passed.

The nearly 30,000 petition signatures is just the latest in an aggressive push from advocates, who have been consistently pushing for action. This year alone, SWC advocates have called or emailed their members of Congress in support of market structure legislation more than 290,000 times, held multiple Washington, D.C., fly-ins to meet directly with lawmakers, and have hosted hundreds of events in communities across the country.

Over the past two years, Stand With Crypto has built a community-led movement to mobilize and harness the voice of America’s 52 million crypto owners into a powerful and unified voting bloc, championing clear, common-sense regulations for the crypto industry and unlocking crypto’s innovation potential while fostering greater economic opportunity and freedom.
