WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Stand With Crypto — America’s leading crypto advocacy organization — announced that Mason Lynaugh has been named executive director, a role he assumes after more than two years of leading the group’s national grassroots and engagement strategy as community director.
“The future of Stand With Crypto, and of crypto in America, is bright under Mason’s direction,” said Juan Suarez, board chairman, Stand With Crypto. “Mason has engaged with this organization at every level of advocacy — from volunteer to community director — and has been integral to building SWC into what it is today. In his new role, Mason will continue to harness the momentum of our movement to galvanize advocates, secure America’s future in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, and position Stand With Crypto as a key player in this fight.”
Lynaugh was Stand With Crypto’s first hire. As community director, he oversaw the growth of SWC’s grassroots community to more than 2.7 million advocates nationwide, expanded state chapter programs to all 50 states, and launched the college chapter program with an initial cohort of 37 chapters across 21 states. Lynaugh also led the coordination of more than 600 local events in 2025 through state chapters, including Unlock the Block parties in four cities that brought together thousands of crypto users with lawmakers, small businesses, and local digital asset leaders.
“I am honored and excited to step into this role,” said Mason Lynaugh, executive director, Stand With Crypto. “I have lived every phase of Stand With Crypto and am committed to building it into a durable political infrastructure that consistently demonstrates policy influence and develops advocacy leaders with a technology-forward policy agenda.”
Lynaugh has also driven significant Capitol Hill engagement. Stand With Crypto’s No More Bailouts campaign delivered more than 250,000 letters to the Senate in a single week in support of existing stablecoin protections. He also spearheaded the inaugural Crypto Day of Action in 2025, generating more than 53,000 unique viewers and 12,500 emails from advocates to members of Congress urging passage of bipartisan market structure legislation. Since its founding, Stand With Crypto has driven nearly 1.5 million total actions to members of Congress.
Stepping into the executive director role is a natural progression for Lynaugh, as he already serves as the voice of Stand With Crypto with lawmakers. He is the primary messenger for Stand With Crypto, directly interfacing with federal policymakers and influencers and convening advocates from across the country to meet with their representatives. In this capacity, Lynaugh has organized Washington D.C. fly-ins that facilitated more than 100 meetings between federal lawmakers and chapter presidents and advocates.
In his new role as executive director, Lynaugh will continue doubling down on growing Stand With Crypto’s membership, influence, and impact, ensuring that the group’s growing number of grassroots advocates will continue making their voices heard in the halls of Congress and at the ballot box to enact pro-crypto legislation and elect pro-crypto candidates.
Among Lynaugh’s top priorities this year is to continue driving record voter engagement, and growing crypto voters into a powerful and unified voting bloc — building on the success of SWC’s nationwide grassroots movement. As Lynaugh previously told Punchbowl News, “2026 is where we prove that the crypto voter is a defining constituency for the next generation, and it’s a time when we hold politicians accountable.” This strategy will involve combining national mobilization campaigns with targeted district-level deployments of state and college chapters in order to protect and expand Congress’ pro-crypto block ahead of the 2026 election.
Prior to joining Stand With Crypto, Lynaugh co-founded ATX DAO, an Austin-based organization he built to position Texas as a leading crypto hub and educate elected officials on the benefits of web3 — work that earned him a spot on Forbes‘ “30 Under 30 Austin” list.
