IOSCO’S global campaign dedicated to promoting investor education and protection will take place from 5 to 11 October 2026 and focus on Investor Resilience and Scams Awareness

Celebrating a decade of promoting investor education, investor protection and financial literacy worldwide, World Investor Week (WIW) 2026 will bring together financial regulators, industry stakeholders, academic institutions and more to raise awareness around current and emerging topics impacting investors around the world. Since its launch in 2017, World Investor Week has grown into a global initiative reaching millions of individuals across more than 100 jurisdictions.

The primary themes for WIW 2026 are Investor Resilience, Digital Deception, and Scam Alert, reflecting some of the most significant challenges facing investors today. Through the week-long campaign, IOSCO and participating organizations aim to encourage investors to make informed, fact-based decisions in changing market conditions, to critically assess investment-related content online and to remain alert against fraud and scams.

These primary themes will be supported by complementary educational themes on Basics of Investing and Young Investors & Next Generation.

WIW 2026 will be held under the campaign tagline: “Invest in Your Future. Protect It Today.”

Last year’s World Investor Week brought together 137 participants across 118 jurisdictions, with activities reaching millions of individuals globally. These activities were often supplemented at a national level by a range of industry and educational organizations, including schools, universities, and other local stakeholders.

As in previous years, WIW 2026 will be supported by a number of partner organizations, including the Financial Planning Standards Board’s (FPSB) bespoke World Financial Planning Day on October 8, as well as the World Federation of Exchanges’ (WFE) Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy event.

“Investor protection remains at the heart of IOSCO’s mission. As World Investor Week marks its 10th edition, the campaign continues to address the issues that matter most to retail investors. This year’s themes reflect the need for investors to remain resilient in changing market conditions, to question investment information they encounter online, and to stay alert to increasingly sophisticated scams. I thank IOSCO member jurisdictions and regional supporters for their continued commitment to this important global initiative.” Jean-Paul Servais, IOSCO Board Chair

“World Investor Week has always been effective because it can be adapted to the realities of each jurisdiction while carrying shared global messages. For WIW 2026, the focus is on helping investors navigate today’s evolving financial environment through practical and relevant initiatives that strengthen financial confidence and support informed decision-making in an increasingly complex environment.” Camille Beaudoin, Director, Financial Education Expertise and Partnerships, AMF Québec and Chair of IOSCO’s Committee on Retail Investors
